DESCRIPTION.
Obtained from the Peruvian Tara pods, by an entirely physical procedure
of sellection, unseeding, grinding and sifting in specific granulometry
sieves.
This
powder is mainly composed by hydrolizable tannins which consist
in esters polydigalloil of quinic acid.
PROPERTIES
The tannic extract of Tara Powder of Perú has a minnimum
impurities of coloring substances which allows us to obtain a very
clear leather and yet solid to light .
In
addition it gives to the leather a good fullness and softness, staying
the flower smooth and firm.
In
leathers cured with Tara the resistance of the flower to tear results
as superior than resistance obtained with any other vegetal tannin.
It
is one of the most abundant sources for the obtention of gallic
acid, precursor molecule to other important composes obtained in
the Chemical Industries.
USES
The tannic extract of Tara powder of Perú, is used in:
- Leather
curing.

Manufacturing of plastics and adhesives.

Wine and Beer industries.

Pharmaceutical industries, due to its astringent properties.

Maintennance of Oil wells.

The obtention on gallic acid, prime matter to the production
of propyl gallate, an antioxidant used in alimentary industries.
